Walk

On May 9, 2026, the Brothers of G-Rock proudly welcomed members of surrounding Divine Nine organizations and supporters from the Gaithersburg-Rockville community to participate in the chapter’s inaugural Walk for the Cure at Black Hill Regional Park in Boyds, Maryland.

Through the tremendous support of participants, sponsors, and community partners, the event successfully raised more than $14,000, with proceeds benefiting two impactful organizations: the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network and the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation.

The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network is dedicated to advancing education, support, research, and advocacy for those impacted by bladder cancer, which remains the 7th most common form of cancer in the United States and the 3rd most common among men. The Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation continues pioneering innovative cancer treatment methodologies focused on providing low-cost, rapid treatment options without the harmful side effects commonly associated with traditional chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

This meaningful event was held in honor of the life and legacy of our beloved Brother Toure’ Breaker, the 13th Polemarch of G-Rock, whose impact and service continue to inspire our chapter and community.

The Brothers of G-Rock extend sincere appreciation to Brother Tod Burwell for his outstanding leadership and dedication in coordinating a successful event centered on purpose, service, and community impact.

Together, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to uplifting communities and supporting causes that make a lasting difference.
