Thomas Leroy, 72, passed away on December 10, 2016. He was native of Petersburg, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling and Margaret Tucker; brothers, Milton and Sterling Tucker; sisters, Lillian Harry and Shirley Ervin; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Tucker; brother-in-law, Tommy Tillman; sister-in-law, Mary Tucker. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1962, Petersburg, Va. In 1968, he received his bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Mo., and advanced degrees from the University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University. He worked for many years as a Psychiatric Social Worker, then as Assistant Director of Admissions at Virginia Commonwealth University, ending his career as Director of Health Careers Opportunity Program for 36 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 47 years, Gloria Glass Tucker; sons, Danon and Marcus Tucker (Tiffany); grandchildren, Jarrod, Jayden, Maya and Bryce; brother, Ronnie Tucker; sister, Dorothy Tillman; brothers-in-law, Ronald Glass Sr., Richard Harry and James Ervin; host of nieces and nephews; godchildren, other relatives and friends.
