Obituary For Thomas Edward Cummings
Thomas Edward \"Deek\" Cummings, 63, of Richmond, died May 5, 2025. He was the son of the late Edward \"Deek\" Cummings and Deaner Jones Cummings.
In 1979, Thomas graduated from Hillside High School in Durham, North Carolina, and later went on to earn his BS degree from Elizabeth City State University.
Thomas was actively employed as a Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Richmond for many years. He volunteered at the Food Bank in North Carolina and Richmond. He also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
He was a devout member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. Crimson and cream were his favorite colors.
Thomas lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every day of his life. He was an avid golfer and tennis player.
Surviving are his sister, Omega R. Cummings, and her husband, Randall, of Graham, North Carolina; one nephew, Evan Ross Jones of Durham, North Carolina; other relatives and many friends.
