Obituary For Kevin E. Fitzpatrick
Kevin Earl Fitzpatrick fulfilled his purpose on this Earth, and after a brief and courageous battle with stomach cancer, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, to James and Helen Fitzpatrick on June 13th, 1964, Kevin spent most of his childhood in Columbia, where he thrived in the close-knit Longfellow neighborhood of Harper’s Choice. At an early age, Kevin accepted Christ and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church. He was a gifted athlete at Centennial High School, excelling in both basketball and baseball, and graduated in 1982.
Kevin attended the University of Virginia, where he continued to shine. He made the fall baseball team as a freshman, was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1986. He built lifelong friendships and was a beloved part of the UVA community, returning often for Black Alumni weekend and staying close with fraternity brothers and classmates.
Kevin was best known for the immense love he gave his family—especially his three sons: Kevin, Brandon, and Darren. He was an ever-present father, coaching youth sports, training with them, helping with school, college visits, job interviews, and guiding them through every phase of life. He was so proud of the men they have become and the families they are building.
His life was made even richer when he met Julie, the love of his life and wife of 17 years. Kevin and Julie were true soulmates, building a life full of joy, partnership, and deep love. Together, they traveled the world, shared unforgettable experiences, and lived each day to the fullest. Their love was something rare and beautiful.
Professionally, Kevin enjoyed extraordinary success across two demanding industries. As an NFL agent for 35 years, he represented many talented athletes—one of whom made it all the way to the Super Bowl. He was a trusted mentor and advocate, and he loved the excitement of football season. In medical sales, Kevin was consistently recognized as a top performer, year after year, earning numerous awards and incentive trips throughout his career. He was known for his drive, professionalism, and the same magnetic charm that made him unforgettable in every setting.
Kevin was a man of warmth, humor, and heart. He never met a stranger. Whether cheering on the Ravens and Wizards, hosting friends, or being the center of attention at any gathering, Kevin brought joy wherever he went.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife Julie Thompson Fitzpatrick of Houston, TX; parents James and Helen Fitzpatrick of Columbia, MD; devoted sons: Kevin Fitzpatrick (Brittany) of Columbia, MD, Brandon Fitzpatrick of Philadelphia, PA, and Darren Fitzpatrick (Krystal) of St. Augustine, FL; two grandchildren, Tate Anthony Fitzpatrick and Quinnlyn Grace Fitzpatrick; Parent in-laws Rev Earl and Thelma Thompson, Sr. of Petersburg, VA; Sister-in-law Dr. Tomeka Williams (Warren) of Great Falls, VA; Brother-in-law Earl Thompson, Jr (Shayle) of Conyers, GA; Aunts: Emma Jordan of Severna Park, MD, Shirley F. Leary of Germantown, TN, Rosalind F. Dorcus of Waynesboro, VA; Uncle Ralph O. Fitzpatrick (Marie) of Covington, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and countless dear friends.
Kevin lived with intention, led with love, and left an indelible mark on the world. His spirit will live on in every life he touched.
Rest well, Kevin. Your love, your laughter, and your light will never be forgotten.
“May the Lord grant his peace and comfort to Kevin’s family in a time like this. On the behalf of his Kappa Brothers, may the Lord give his soul a refuge as he enters the Chapter Invisible.”, Haven Memorial
