Born January 9, 1932 in Rock Hill, SC, he was the son of the late Walter Lee Archie, Sr. and Annie Blake Archie. He was married to the late Ruby Batts Archie.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Survivors include two daughters, Trina McCorkle and Carla Archie both of Charlotte, NC; one son, Keith Archie of Woodbridge, VA and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by eight siblings.
