A Time to be Born: Adrian Dwight Pittman was born on July 16, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland to Herman “Ham” Pittman and the late Juanita Pittman. He was an only child and the light of his parents’ lives.
A Time to Learn: Adrian graduated from Walbrook Senior High School in 1976. During high school he ran Cross Country and developed a lifelong thirst for learning. After high school Adrian matriculated to Coppin State College and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He also attended Catonsville Community College where he earned a Certificate in Addiction Counseling.
During his time at Coppin State College, he saw that Kappa Light and was pledged to the Zeta Gamma of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Where he crossed those burning sands on April 23, 1983.
A Time to Worship: With the guidance of a Christ fearing mother, Adrian received his Christian education at Trinity Presbyterian Church. This experience provided him with an unyielding belief in the God of his OWN understanding. The Most High spoke to his heart and he was baptized at Good Sheppard Baptist Church. Ultimately, he heard the call of the prophet and became of a member of Muhammad Mosque Number #6 where he served in the Fruit of Islam.
A Time to Plant: After college, Adrian began a career serving people. He served as an Addictions Counselor for Baltimore City Public Schools, a Counselor at the Charles H. Hickey, Jr. School, and a Counselor for the Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC). He lived a life dedicated to service in the public interest until failing health called him to respite.
A Time to Live: Adrian truly loved life. He loved good food, voluptuous women, fine clothing, and Italian shoes. Adrian had an impeccable style and coordinated his outfits from head to toe- everything had to be in ORDER! Adrian was a man of many talents and interests. He loved long distance running and ran several marathons. He was a voracious reader and loved bargain hunting. During frequent visits with his god sister Betty he loved to hear the word of God.
A Time to Cherish: Adrian was a suave, curious, talkative, and intelligent character and his memory will be cherished by his many friends and family. He was a truly kind spirit. Continuing Adrian’s legacy is his father Herman Pittman, his dear friend Teresa Holmes, his homeboy Hayes, his god sister Betty Allen, an Aunt Shirley Blackwell, and a host of family and friends.
