On Wednesday morning, July 20, 2016, Walter E. Fowlkes, beloved husband for 57 years of Geraldine E. Fowlkes, father of Walter M.”Chipper” Fowlkes, II, went to be with the Lord at 2:15 am. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at The People’s Community Baptist Church, 31 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, MD 20905 and again on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 9:30 am until time of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. Fraternal Services at 10:30 am. Funeral Service begins at 11 am with Repast immediately following. Interment will take place on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10:30 am at Arbutus Memorial Park, 1101 Sulphur Spring Road, Catonsville/Baltimore MD 21227. Family, friends and others are invited to follow to the cemetery by assembling at 9:30 am at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20904 where lunch will be served following the interment. In addition to his loving wife Gerry and son “Chipper”, Walter leaves his legacy of love to: two sisters, Lillian G. Person and Vivian F. Holmes; one brother, Charles R. Fowlkes (Katherine); one sister-in-law, Joyce V. Tutman; two nieces, Pamela Dixon and Brenda Reeves; a devoted great niece, Rosalind Jones (Dante); two nephews, Marc H. Holmes and Nathan M. Gundy, III; one great nephew, Bryan Logan (Jennifer); three great-great nieces, Morgan Jones, Sydney and Cameron Logan; one great-great nephew, Dante Jones, Jr.; and two special adopted grandsons, Blake and Remington Brooks; and a host of other relatives and friends. Walter was pre-deceased by his youngest brother, Joseph C. Fowlkes (Connell). |
