LeCoast Mack, (“Mack”), 87, of Frederick, died Tues., June 4, 2019, at his home following a long-term illness. Born in South Carolina and raised in DC, he was the son of the late Ulysses and Hattie Mack (Chambers). He attended Dunbar High School in DC and graduated from Virginia State College. He was the husband of Vernice Mack. Mack was devoted to First Missionary Baptist Church (FMBC) and served as a Trustee, Deacon and Bible study teacher. Mack belonged to several organizations, including the Fredericktonian Lodge #12 of the Masons and the Frederick Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. Mack leaves his wife of 63 years, Vernice (Winfield) Mack; daughters, Karen Mack & Kimberly (Mack) Coates; sister, Lucille (Mack) Funderburk; son-in-law, Leslie Coates III; grandsons, Brenden & Bryson Coates; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. His brother, Nathaniel Mack, preceded him in death. |
