“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness.” II Timothy 4:7-8 On July 9, 2024, at 10:15 a.m., Junius C. Ferebee, departed this earthly life to join his heavenly father. He was born on July 26, 1951, to the late Edward Ferebee, Sr. and Helen Geneva Adams Ferebee in Winfall, NC. He and his wife, Annette, were blessed to renew their wedding vows on their 40th Wedding Anniversary in May 2022. The family relocated to Brooklyn, NY in 1962. Junius loved sports, playing handball, and basketball, in the park with his brother Michael, and other family members and friends during his teenage years in Brooklyn. JC was a die-hard fan of the New York Giants football team and the New York Knicks basketball team, “New York, New York”. In his golden age years, he developed a love for playing golf and Annette even joined him, learning to play golf. He entered the United States Army in 1971 and served his country honorably 22 years. After retiring from the United States Army career, he entered the Wells Fargo Corporation in a managerial position in the mortgage department. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree October 23,1999 from Upper Iowa University. On January 11, 1998, Junius “JC” was ordained as a Deacon at Corinthian Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa. After relocating he joined First Missionary Baptist Church serving as Vice Chairman of the Deacon Board. He served God by following the will of God for his life. He was an asset to his church family. He was a member of the Frederick, Maryland Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Left to cherish fond memories of him are his: devoted wife of 42 years, Annette Hurdle Ferebee; one son, Karlynn G. Ferebee, Virginia Beach, VA; adopted daughter-of-love, Nichole Birch Fortune (Max), Roswell, GA; one grandson, his bright and shinning star, Karlynn G. Ferebee, Jr.; one brother, Michael Ferebee (Kitchia), Rex, GA; three sisters, C. Loretta Buggs (Joseph), Hampton, VA, Edith F. Fayall, Edenton, NC, and Gwendolyn D. Ferebee, Forestville, MD; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wood, Carolyn Moultrie (Phillip), Jannette H. Hawkins, and Jean R. Ferebee; one brother-in-law, Matthew Leigh (Gail); eight nieces; six nephews; great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and many caring cousins, relatives and friends. He was loved and will be missed by family and friends. A life well lived is at rest. God does all things well. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
