On Thursday, June 15, 2023. at the age of 73, Vernon Charles Branch, Sr. peacefully transitioned into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born on Sunday, February 19, 1950, to the late Evelyn and Vernon H. Branch. His twin brother Charles Vernon Branch preceded him in death at childbrith in Harlem, NY. Vernon attended William Taft High School in Bronx, NY. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he honorably served in Vietnam. In 1983 he graduated from Delaware State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Vernon also furthered his education at Central Michigan State University from which he obtained a Master’s Degree in Health Administration. His initiation into Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity occurred on February 5, 1984, and he became a lifetime member on October 26, 1988. In addition to his long line of success, he gave his life to God and became a member of Corinth Baptist Church. Vernon is survived in death by his wife Patricia “Pat” Baumgardner-Branch, and his children: Eric Goodman (Tori), Vernon “Chucky” Branch, Miya Barnes, and Nikki Branch (deceased). His siblings: Vera Perry, Mildred, Reginald, Vincent Cooley, and Cathedra Cooley (deceased). His 13 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Stepdaughters: Pamela Moye-Meredith (Dwaine), Tawanna Thompson, Sherri Moye-Clegg (Dmitri), and Stepson Kevin Moye. His 5 Step Grandchildren and 7 Step Great-Grandchildren. As well as a host of relatives, long-life friends, and associates. Jesus says, come with me, by yourself, to a quiet place and get some rest (Mark 6:31 NIV). Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted (Matthew 5:4 NIV). He heals the brokenhearted and binds up my wounds (Psalm 147:3). |
