Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at his home in Washington, DC. He is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years, Charlene Boone Quander; brother Michael A. Quander; daughters Candace M. Quander and Katherine Quander Forde (Carl); aunt Jenny Quander Henderson; uncle Harold D. Jones, Jr.; mother-in-law Louise T. Boone; brother-in-law Charles P. Boone (Sharon); sisters-in-law Louise T. Boone and Denise C. Boone; nephews Bernard Boone (Joi), Charles P. Boone, Jr., Kevin Willis and Cameron Quander; and nieces Jaqueline, Makiyah and Kyleigh Quander; Nakeesha R. Gray, Nichole Boone, and Constance Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul A. Quander, Sr. and Roberta Jones Quander.
A lifelong Washingtonian, Paul graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School (1973), Virginia State University (1977) and the Howard University School of Law (1980). His distinguished public service career spanned more than 30 years. Most recently he served as Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice, from which he retired in 2015. He also was the first presidentially-appointed director of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency for the District of Columbia, Deputy Director of the DC Department of Corrections, and an Assistant United States Attorney.
