Nathaniel B. Fleming, II, of Prince George, Virginia transitioned to the Chapter Invisible on Friday, November 18, 2022. Nathaniel was born, July 5, 1933, in Powhatan, Virginia to the late Nathaniel and Ida Fleming. He attended Virginia State University, Petersburg, Virginia where he received a BS in Agriculture. I was initiated in 1957 at Virginia State University, the Alpha Phi of Kappa Alpha Psi. He served in the United States Army for 23 years and deployed and fought in Vietnam. He rose to the rank of Command Sergeant Major at which rank he retired. Affectionately known in the Petersburg, Virginia area as the “Watermelon Man,” Nathaniel served his community selling vegetables with integrity and grit for over 20 years. He was a Charter Member of the Fort Lee (VA) Alumni Chapter (E) which received its charter on November 22, 1980. He leaves to cherish his legacy his wife, Ruby Bland Fleming; two sons – Nathaniel III and Ronald; two brothers; and other family and friends.
